If you have ever wondered how bikeable a city is, then Bike Score has the answers you’re looking for.
The concept is simple: Bike Score rates a city on how easy someone could ride a bike in it. Four components are measured to create a score — bike lanes, hills, destinations and road connectivity, and bike commuting road share.
The score ranges from 0 to 100, and the higher the score the better the bikeability. So far the most bikeable city in the U.S. is Boulder, Colorado, with a score of 86. Minneapolis, Minnesota, follows with a score of 79.
Bike Score is a concept that grew out of similar services called Walk Score and Transit Score. The goal is to connect people to communities with greener, more sustainable transportation options.
