If you’ve ever yearned to hear the insightful musings that take place between America’s environmental leaders, then here’s your chance.
Sierra Club is asking people all over the country to participate in its “Lightbulbs to Leadership” campaign by hosting or attending a house party on Thursday, July 17. The party will include a conference with Green For All President Van Jones, Sierra Club Executive Director Carl Pope and Washington Governor Chris Gregoire.
The “Lightbulbs to Leadership” campaign focuses on informing the public that positive environmental change requires more than changing light bulbs; it requires governmental policy change.
After the festivities, partygoers will band together to write letters to their respective state governors urging green job development. Sierra Club hosted a similar initiative last month and collected 49,000 signatures to encourage the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to issue better fuel economy standards.
