Harry Potter Saves Trees

Scholastic is publishing all 12 million U.S. copies of J.K. Rowling’s 784-page Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on paper that contains a minimum of 30 percent post-consumer waste fiber. Plus, 65 percent of the 16,700 tons of paper will be certified sustainable by the Forest Stewardship Council. The deluxe edition (100,000 copies) will be printed on 100 percent post-consumer waste paper and made using wind energy.

You simply download the patterns, follow the instructions and assemble a chair, rocker or stool. Donations support the Foldschool mission: ecological design that’s affordable to all.
