One of the simplest methods for making your house smell amazing is simmering some potpourri. You can be wildly creative with this recipe. Use other spices and herbs that might be in your pantry. Find what smells good to you!
Spicy Simmering Potpourri
• 1 1/2 cups (355 milliliters) apple cider
• 1/2 nutmeg, grated or 1/2 teaspoon ground
• 1 teaspoon (2 g) cloves
• 1 cinnamon stick, broken in half
1. Mix all the ingredients together and bring to a boil.
2. Reduce heat to the lowest simmer possible. Keep an eye on the simmering potpourri and refill it with more apple cider as needed.
3. Simmer for 2–4 hours or however long you desire.
Yield: about 1 2/3 cups.
Holiday Simmering Potpourri
• 1 1/2 cups (355 milliliters) water
• 1 or 2 sprigs rosemary
• 1/4 cup (25 grams) fresh cranberries
• Peel of 1 orange or clementine
1. Mix all the ingredients together and bring to a boil.

3. Simmer for 2–4 hours or however long you desire.
Yield: about 1 2/3 cups.
