Thinking of upgrading that old refrigerator? Not ready to tackle those winter heating bills with your inefficient furnace? It may be time to upgrade to an energy efficient model, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has taken out much of the shopping guesswork through their Energy Star program. Now, a web-based app can find rebates and credits offered in your state to save you money on Energy Star products.
The Energy Star Rebate Finder app uses your zip code to find sales tax exemptions, credits, or rebates on qualified products. Partners also occasionally sponsor recycling incentives for the proper disposal of old products.
Incentives are offered for everything from ceiling fans to CFL light bulbs. I suggest clicking the “check all” button at the end of the list to find all incentives available at the current time.
