Victoria Redhed Miller was born in Champaign, Ill., and grew up in Seattle, Wash., in a family of 8 children. She married David Miller in 2000. No children. They moved to their off-grid farm in the foothills of the Olympic Mountains in 2006. Victoria completed Washington State University’s Sustainable Ag class in 2008, and received her Master Food Preserver certification in 2009. She started raising heritage chickens, turkeys and ducks in 2007. Her first Mother Earth News Fair presentation was given in 2011 (Puyallup, Wash.).
