Where Can I Learn More About Cancer Screening Guidelines?

Reader Contribution by Staff

I’ve heard that early screening is a good cancer-prevention strategy, but I’m not sure what I should be tested for or when. Are there any good Internet resources for information about cancer screening tests?

One good place to look is the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center website, www.mskcc.org. Check out their page on screening guidelines for different types of cancer. The risk factors for cancer can vary dramatically depending on your family history and lifestyle, so it’s always a good idea to discuss this with your doctor.
