This healing body butter will also lightly scent your skin. Choose insect-repelling scents, such as lemongrass, eucalyptus, and mint, to add to this rich skin balm. You can make a large batch to divide into many small containers, which you can tuck inside pockets and garden totes so you won’t be bugged when spending time outdoors. Yield: 4 ounces.
• 1/4 cup coconut oil
• 1/4 cup shea butter
• 1 tbsp grated beeswax
• 2 drops lemongrass essential oil
• 2 drops eucalyptus essential oil
Directions: Place the coconut oil, shea butter, and beeswax in a heat-resistant container and warm gently on a stovetop or in a microwave until just melted. Remove from heat and stir until blended. Mix in essential oils. Pour the mixture into a clean container and let cool completely until solid. To use, massage a small amount onto your skin.
