During the garden season we can be rough on our hands. Digging in dirt without gloves, working with machinery, and using various tools can leave our hands grimy, dirty and scratched. I have hopes that this homemade, oil-based salt scrub will clean, cut through grease and promote healing. This is a recipe I formulated after combining recipes and suggestions from several friends. Mix the ingredients thoroughly and store in a glass jar with lid. A wide mouth jar works very well, as it is easier to reach into when using the scrub.
- 1 cup Olive Oil
I like the medicinal qualities of Eucalyptus and Tea Tree Oil. They are antibacterial and anti-fungal while soothing and healing to rough or injured garden hands. This scrub is also good on feet and knees. To use, wet your hands and get out about 1 teaspoon of the scrub. Gently rub all over hands then keep scrubbing while rinsing with warm water. Work in around nails and fingers to get out dirt and grease.
Take care of those hands, they work hard for you!
