Affable Alpacas at the MOTHER EARTH NEWS FAIR

<p>An awesome assortment of livestock is in attendance here at the MOTHER EARTH NEWS FAIR in Puyallup, Wash. Pigs, sheep and goats are well represented, but most exciting for me was the opportunity to meet alpacas for the very first time yesterday. As with any first encounter (animal or otherwise), I was a bit timid at the outset, but after just a few minutes, I was so taken with the pair of friendly critters that I hopped right inside their cage, accompanied by their owner, Becky Venn of <a title=”Alpacas of Wintercreek” href=”http://www.alpacasofwintercreek.com/Default.asp” target=”_blank”>Alpacas of Wintercreek</a>, based in Auburn, Wash.<br />
