I scavenged a glass-top coffee table, removed the old glass, and flipped it upside down. I filled the top with soil to create a small raised bed for growing herbs. It was fast, free and easy. Plus, it looks elegant, and I appreciate that the legs of the table provide me with support after I’ve been gardening on worn-out knees.

Also, to protect plants from pests or cold weather, you can drape row covers or plastic over the four legs of the table to make a bug-proof room or mini-greenhouse! — MOTHER
