Background: Micki Brown is an avid gardener who holds a Master’s degree in Agricultural Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, both from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and an Associate degree in Ornamental Horticulture from Victor Valley College. While earning her associate degree, she was a member of the Victor Valley College Ornamental Horticulture Club and was President of it for one year.
While working on her bachelor’s degree at Cal Poly, Pomona, she participated in national horticultural competitions including ALCA (now PLANET) and NACTA, as well as being a member of the Los Robles Horticulture Club. She has worked for Corona Clipper, Inc., as a Pruning Expert, taught horticulture courses at Victor Valley College, written a weekly garden column for the Victorville Daily Press, and most recently has started her own blog: High Desert Gardener.
